A recent example is the transformation of Seafield House in Jersey using Kingspan SIPs & metal web joists.
The original granite outbuilding straddled a stream and the replacement cottage had to do the same. The SIPs system allowed for a light, yet strong structure to minimise the load onto the foundation slab that spans across the stream.
Granite and bricks from the old building were re-used on the new including stunning shallow-arch brick lintels. Here SIPs prove ideal in providing a fusion of old and new allowing for fully vaulted ceilings inside the bedrooms upstairs that create incredible space for a small home.
