At Norman Piette Ecohomes we recognise that to keep pace with modern technology and building practices, we need to offer the local housing market and construction industry low-energy and low-carbon buildings. By combining highly insulated and low impact building materials with renewable sources of energy we are providing the next generation of dwellings.

Our Team

Steve Powell

Steve is the Executive Manager for Ecohomes and looks after the day to day running of the department including estimating, design, manufacture and on-site installation of a range of timber engineered products. He is also the contact for Architects, Engineers and Specifiers for all products.

Steve has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and graduated from London Southbank University with an honours degree in Construction Management. He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and is heavily involved with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) where he has been on committee for a number of years and more recently held the position of Chairman of the local branch.

In his spare time Steve is a keen photographer and enjoys researching history with particular interest in the occupation of the Channel Islands during World War 2.

Jamie Rigler

Jamie is a City & Guilds qualified Carpenter with 29 years of experience within the industry.

On moving to Guernsey with his wife and daughter in 2009 he initially worked for a local builder before joining Norman Piette as EcoHomes Supervisor in 2011. Since then he has progressed to be EcoHomes Production Manager and more recently moved over to design and quotations, a challenging role but very rewarding to be involved in the project from quote to completion.

The continued developments within the new build industry means we are always keeping up to date with building methods, aiming to offer our customers the latest and most effective available. Jamie has seen a lot of changes in the short time he has worked for Norman Piette all of which have helped us develop into a customer friendly Builders’ Merchant.

Wayne Le Maitre

Wayne is the longest serving member of the team with over 40 years experience in the trade. He is one of the first points of contact for customers and can offer sound advice on how best to move your project forward with EcoHomes. Not only offering advice Wayne also measures up, quotes and designs the trusses and metal web joists.

After the advice stage and once an architect has created your plans, Wayne will take a look and work out your requirements. He will also talk to your installer or builder to make sure it all goes to plan. Once it’s manufactured to correct specifications the individual pieces can be put together in the workshop or on site. That makes it easier when there are access issues and in Guernsey that is often the case. Wayne is there to try and make the whole process run as smoothly as possible.
